He was supposed to perform at the palace theater on Wednesday.I heard that he passed away today.

He died Christmas morning at a hospital in Atlanta at about 1:45 am due to complications from pneumonia. He was 73.

Yeah... he passed away at 1:30 this morning..he had Pneomonia... I live in Augusta so I know all about it =(

Yeah its sad he passed away this christmas morning i'm sure. It makes me sad to see a celebrity die especiallly if it was Gerard Way.. i would be crying..

It appears what happened is that he did die of a heart attack as a result of his pneumonia.
