My girlfriend and I have had a female Chihuahua puppy for two weeks now. The puppy is very smart and has adapted to life with us well, She is actually my first dog and I am very protective of her. At night we have found out that it is much easier to leave her in the bathroom at night because it includes her bed w/ blanket, water and food bowls nearby and her training pad and litter box. She seems pretty set in there, but sometimes at night she whines for a couple of minutes then goes to sleep. We occasionally check up on her during the night and she is either still asleep or just in her bed chillin. What bothers me is that we turn the light off when she is in there, so is she ok? Is it ok to leave a puppy in a dark room at night? I don't want to do anything to her that might traumatize her.

I have no problem in a normal club or bar asking out women. I never usually do the strip club scene b/c I don't like paying for what I can usually get for free. I was getting bored a while back of the reg bar scene and finally started checking out this strip club. There's a girl there I REALLY like and think likes me. She approached me just to talk instead of offering to dance, we had both had a rough day, etc. I didn't get her number or anything though b/c she prob gets that all the time. I want to go back to get her number but...I'm concerned. I dont' want to look like just another client. I mean, I'm in shape, I don't look like some of their avg 300 lbs can't get laid to save their lives customers. Once again, I normally can go anywhere else but...I don't know...it's like this is more of a challenge and so more of a turn on....but what should I do?

The reason she's given for refusing it is that it'll cause an argument with her boyfriend. I've given her presents before and she's always accepted them. I know that he's said something to cause her change of heart but i don't know what. This guy has always been jealous of our friendship. He's always seen it as me against him for this woman's affections. This is another attempt on his part to mark his territory. I fully understand my friend's reasons for declining the gift.
She has also accused me of pushing the boundaries of our friendship which i admit has been true in the past. But i have no ulterior motives with regards to this gift. I just wanted her to have a nice present from me. The reason i'm so bothered by this is that the gift is unique and therefore very difficult to exhange. I don't want to be stuck with a present that i've no use for. I can't give it to someone else because i bought it especially for her. Short of giving it to them as a couple i don't know what to do.

Debates and discussions can be really helpful and fun, UNTIL one becomes defensive. At that point, you stop listening and begin to make attacks at persons rather than ideas, and you become more willing to do anything just to defeat the other person and their argument, even if it involves lying.

This is an emotional response, and not one with much intellectual integrity. And it is easy to see in Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Jews, and just about anyone else.

In order to have a genuine dialogue, it's important to watch out for becoming defensive.

So what do you notice in YOURSELF that gives you cues that you've left the realm of peaceful dialogue and passed into the valley of the shadow of death?

my partner and I have split up after I had a etpoic pregnancy as i still really want to have a child. I have the means to support myself and the child when it arrives and can work from work when its a little older so wouldnt be living off the state or anything like that. I dont want to go out and get pregnant of some one night stand, so a sperm donor is the choice ive made.

I think mine was about 6 months ago. I'd just had my baby and was at Tesco - just loading my car full of bags and I really needed to go. I tried to hold it in but no chance! Had to sit on a carrier bag all the way home !
