I recently heard, "He's an obese communist who makes his elves work in a sweatshop, practices animal cruelty by whipping his reindeer, and breaks and enters into people's homes."

St. Nicolaus was the REAL version of santa claus giving toys he had widdled himself to boys in an orphanage home.
and Santa Claus, in my opinion is a branch off of the idea of st. nick.
Santa Claus is simply the spirit of giving, gifts to someone else, the gift of love, life, happiness, or mostly something material but all the same it shows that you care.

1. Santa Claus' political views are unknown.
2. We don't know under what condition the elves work, nor do we know that they work involuntarily. They may even be well paid, for all we know.
3. I've never seen reference to Santa whipping his reindeer. In "A Visit from St. Nicholas", he merely whistles and calls them by name.
4. He doesn't "break" into homes, or at least I've never seen a broken window or jimmied door in my house. And, since the homes he visits are expecting and even encouraging him to visit (milk and cookies, anyone?), Santa Claus cannot be charged with criminal trespass.

Get your facts straight, man.

Santa Clause is Satan's cause.

He was derived by Satan (through the Coca-Cola Company, based on a true Saint Nicholas with a changed image) to make you forget about baby Jesus.
