....or the Easter Bunn and other things SUPPOSEDLY related to religion. Because of our religion my parents never told use these fables so we knew but we were also told not to point out these blatant lies to any other children our age. I will never forget when my aunt told my cousin the truth about Santa….she cried all night long. I just don’t understand why…if people do in fact believe the vague religions premises for these holidays why do they lie. All thorough the bible it states that lying=bad truth=good. John had a lot to say about lying vs. telling the truth but the tone is there throughout the bible: John 8:32 John 8:44 John 4:23, 24

I’m not touching on the biblical principals vs. the pagan influences of Christmas or Easter or whatever holiday that promotes lying to children I just would like to know why good and decent people make the mistake of lying to kids only to reveal the truth when they are older.

I don't know if it's me or him. I've been dating a guy for about a month. We last saw each other Saturday and I didn't hear from him all week so finally I emailed him last nigt and he emailed me back, so that was fine. But then he didn't reply to my last email and I'm kind of frustrated because I guess I'm lonely and bored and I want to talk to him! I feel frustrated because he's not available to talk to me when I miss him. Am I too needy? I also just got out of a four year r/ship so maybe I'm on the rebound and lonely and that's making me needy.

I notice that if it's not a major life threading story in the news, they just call it a "Developing Story". But when it's some sort of horrific thing, like a school shooting ... if the whole fiasco started at noon, CNN is still calling it "BREAKING NEWS" several hours later. Is this just the normal thing in the media, or is it for the dramatic affect?

This is my 1st pregnancy (17 weeks) and I was once told that if you buy your baby clothes, pampers, car seat etc. basically any baby items before your 7th mth it was bad luck... the only proof i have for that is my sis was pregnant and began to buy things for her baby at about 5mths into her pregnancy and the baby ended up born premature and within 24 hrs of being born pasted away...... does anyone know anything about this? because i would love to start buying stuff as soon as possible. Thank you

As an ex con, I can speak from experience. Prison is far to soft and so therefore not a deterent. Cells have Curtains, Carpets, TV with Sky, Playstation, Kettle. Access to Microwave & Grill during assocciation time. Prisoners can wear their own clothing. Can spend £30 per week on shopping. I say prison should be a room, with a bed, a table and chair, and thats your lot. No TV, No Radio, No Shopping, Nothing but 23 hours a day bang up. 1 hours excersize, so long as the weather is good. The food should be basic, all priviedges withdrawn and lets get it back to basics. If its made a long horrible drawn out affair, then it becomes a deterent, a place people don't want to go to. Our Prison system needs a total overall, as they are all rife with drugs, bent officers & large amounts of violence that gets brushed under the carpet, so as not to affect that prisons statistics for the end of year report. What do you think our prisons should be like?

Both my children received lump sum payments from my SSD, the 1099's states the benificiary's SSN and my child's SSN. So do I report it as my income or as my son's income. My SSn is listed as the claim number.

I just moved to the central valley (near Fresno) from San Diego. I'am close to all of the central coast surfing hot-spots, including Santa Cruz. I'am a dedicated and experienced surfer who always goes out in the water with a good attitude, and I always show respect (I never drop in on anyone). I can also defend my self against local kooks (the people that think that they own the water and the beach) if I have to. Anyway, I want to start surfing in Santa Cruz (because the surf is supposed to be world-class) and some of my buddies back in San Diego told me that Santa Cruz locals are really bad, meaning that they threaten people with knives and guns, and I also heard that Santa Cruz, in general is the "Murder Capital" of the West Coast. Is there any truth to this? If so, then I will go up there prepared.
