Commandant Von Luger: What were you doing by the wire?
Hilts: Well, like I told Max... I was trying to cut my way through your wire because I wanta get out.
You probably have to see it to grasp the humor but here was an American prisoner openly telling the Germans he wants to cut a hole in the wire so he can escape....
