This is my 1st pregnancy (17 weeks) and I was once told that if you buy your baby clothes, pampers, car seat etc. basically any baby items before your 7th mth it was bad luck... the only proof i have for that is my sis was pregnant and began to buy things for her baby at about 5mths into her pregnancy and the baby ended up born premature and within 24 hrs of being born pasted away...... does anyone know anything about this? because i would love to start buying stuff as soon as possible. Thank you

I am 32 weeks pregnant and I believe that when its meant to be its meant to be. I barely started buying my baby stuff last week. In my case I've went through bad experiences with my last 3 pregnancies so I wanted to wait. So I think its when ever you're ready to take that step.

With my 1st baby I waited to buy anything-clothes,crib,bouncy seat etc. until I was about 30 weeks along.I waited because if anything happened to my baby I did not want a reminder with baby stuff laying around the house.I am now 27 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and I have bought a few clothes but other than that I am again waiting until about the last month to buy the crib and bassinnett-again because I do not want anything to happen and I want to wait until near the end of the pregnancy.

Things do happen and it's terrible but if you want to start now it will get you ahead for when the little one comes! I started buying things pretty early on that were neutral (and blue once I found out it was a boy)and I'm glad I did because now i have almost everything I need but a crib and were getting that next month just in time for him to come!
I do know what you mean though I once had a miscarriage at 4 months and had bought a few things but i don't think that I would have been any less devastated had I not! I'm sure everything will work out fine for you! =]
So next time you see the cutest little outfit on clearance for a few bucks why not grab it ;o)

By 16w I had already bought everything for my baby, I already had the whole nursery fixed. I was told not to get anything before 12w because I could miscarry but I just completely ignored everybody, this is my baby and I do whatever I want, whenever I want. I don't believe in superstition I believe in God and I pray for my baby all the time, I know God willing I will have a healthy baby. I am 29w now and feeling great, I love going in my baby's room and just looking around, decorating things, I bought me a rocking chair with a glider and I sit there and rock myself and the baby while I crochet a blanket that I almost finish. I have enjoyed my pregnancy and I have not lived scared of loosing my baby at any time because I know that my baby will be just fine so I just enjoy it.

I have bought babys supplies for the first month so I don't have to go out in the cold for nothing. I have everything and every time I go to the store I get something for him, I just got him a baby bib that says I love daddy, his first baby bib. I am also very blessed that I habe been able to get all this, I even have the hospital bags packed, for whenever it is time I don't have to rush or forget anything.

If you want to buy stuff, go out and buy it. I didn't because I was all paranoid that if I did something would happen to the baby. However, I know people that have been pregnant and everytime they go to the store they buy a pack of diapers or a pack of wipes so that once the baby is born they don't have to worry about going out and getting that stuff right away. It all depends on how superstitious you are.

Don't believe any superstitions. If anything, what happened with your sister was more of a coincidence with already existing complications. It could have been her diet, health, environment, etc.

I recommend that you don't buy anything until after your baby shower. You will most likely get most of the necessities for your baby at the shower and then you can get the rest of what you will be needing.

Don't worry about your baby. Eat healthy, take your prenatal vitamin, drink 8 glasses of water per day and exercise.

ive never heard of it being bad luck. I started picking things up little by little after i found out i was having a boy. Im 34 1//2 weeks right now and all the ultrasounds prove him to be healthy even if he were to come out now. Just start whenever you feel good and ready and dont rush it all! Enjoy your pregnancy =) Good Luck!

I guess it depends how superstitious you are. In Jewish culture you're not allowed to bring any baby stuff into the house before the baby is born. However, pregnancy books tell you to start buying 1 package of diapers a week in your 2nd trimester. There's no validity to it, and you're not going to "curse" your pregnancy

human beings oftentimes attempt to get handed the 1st 6months in the past determining to purchase something interior the form of a tragedy or miscarriage. i began out determining to purchase toddler element while i substitute into approximately 8 to eight a million/2 months alongside. i bought unisex (Yellow and Mint green) onesies and socks alongside with the receiving blanket, a million bag of recent child diapers ( in case you have a toddler bigger than the standard 8 lb-er newborn will not extra healthy), moist wipes, bibs, regarded at automobile seat, toddler carriage or Prams, bought bottles if no longer breastfeeding, clothing diapers for spit-up, a nursing pillow to help toddler in spite of in case you breast or bottle feed. they oftentimes supply a catalogue that tells you while to have those issues.
