Hi Alicia

FOOD POISONING

If detected early enough by that bad queasy feeling it is best to vomit the food out. Drink 2 quarts of warm water with a little lemon juice in it.

Put your fingers down your throat and tickle your uvula (that little drooping piece of flesh in the back of your mouth). After you vomit, or if its been too long since the meal, to Absorb the Poison or Bacteria; Drink 8 ounces of liquid with 1 heaping teaspoon of Charcoal (herb): Repeat 2 to 3 more times.

Best of health to you

what was the food that caused the poisioning. Usual (meaning typical e-coli) symptoms include vomiting, sweating and general ilness. If syptoms do not improve within 6-8 hours, seek medical attention. There is no real "cure" for food poisioning. once the the bacteria is there the body natural prosseses take over and attepts to get rid of the "poison"
antibiotics are usually administered depending on severity.

I've always been told by doctors that the best thing to do is drink lots of water. This can give you loose bowel movements. This can dehydrate you & if this don't stop you can get a shot to put a stop to the movements. The shot is very painful or so my son says. He has got the shot 2 or 3 times so I'll go by what he says.
You can always call Ask-A-Nurse or call your doctor if things get really bad. You have to have the shot come from a doctor, it's not something you can just walk into a store & get.

Time, rest, plenty of liquids and tylenol. It usualy only lasts for 24 to 48 hours. If it lasts longer and/or your symptoms are severe(very high temp) then you need to see a doctor. Food poisoning is generaly accompanied by a fever so take tylenol to help this. Then go to sleep if you can. The increased liquids will help wash out the bacteria. There are detox teas out there too.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

You have a bunch of great answers about this , I am going to address hydration. Getting dehydrated is very common with food poisoning. You need to drink a lot of water, Gatorade, pediolyte, those drinks are important because when you get sick like that, you throw off your whole system. Your electrolyte balance is important, if you can stay hydrated and drink drinks with sodium and potassium or eat a banana, something easy, you can start to get well and feel comfortable sooner.
We are no substitute for your doctor, get well and stay hydrated.

U should call the doctor. I had food poisoning once. All you can do is wait for it to wear off. It usually takes 24 hours

Time... you can alleviate some of the symptoms using Imodium or a doctor prescribed medicine. (There's this one I was given once that numbs your stomach, but I don't know what it's called.) Make sure you're getting plenty of fluids and if you do decide to finally eat again eat bland foods.

I think it depends on what kind of food poisoning it is, so you should always call the Poison Control Center if you suspect poisoning, or just call 911.
