Why can't there be an artificial way to manipulate the speed of light? Why does it have to be exactly 186000 miles/sec?

that one of the many ppl who broke into my moms house, is a friend of a friend who works with my friend. And I know fighting anit goin to solve anything, but I can't walk away. My step dad killed my mom, and then 4 different couples broke into my moms home, and took alot of sinttmental things, so I need to know if anyones knows of any good movies that shows u how to fight. Please help me.
I know I should let God deal with it but I dont know if I can.

after getting pulled over, the cop told me i was speeding. i asked to see the radar reading since i was stopping for a red light prior to even seeing the cop, so it seemed unlikely to me that i was speeding. the cop showed me the radar reading but then wrote up the ticket for a faster speed than the radar had stated in order to hassle me further.

will this hold up in court? can the officer write up a faster speed after showing me the radar and telling me that i was going X speed? seems like he's taking advantage of his power. any advice on the situation would be helpful. thanks

i and my ex (we broke up, but he still treats me as gf, we r in long D). he is still calling me and said something like he loved me, he missed me, how important i m to him. recently he told me he is moving to the UK for work early next year and he wants to bring me along. i dunno, there are times, he sounds really very true, though there were times, he upset me and hurt my feeling, thus, several months ago i called it quit. i have been so upset and cried almost everyday since then. i told myself i shoulda listen to his bullshit anymore as i think he is just playing with my feeling. but deep down, i still love him. i cant help but wonder if he is really moving to the UK and if he really offers me to live with him, should i go for it? or maybe i will just visit him but shoulda stay there for long? how can i know he is really into me? if he wants me to marry him, does it mean he really likes me?

My mother and father are literally stuck on my *** all the time. I don't know what to do. They always want to know where I'm going, who I'm with, any guys that will be attending. EVERYTHING.. I think it is because about a year ago I went with a boy to the movies and things happened. It completely shattered their trust and I felt terrible, but yet, it made me want to rebel more. Every wall they put up, I miserably smash it down.

Yesterday I was playing football when my left pinkie collided with someone's shoulder. Immediately, I felt this throbbing pain that took an hour to go away. My finger swelled up quickly, and by the end of the night, all but the tip was and still is a purplish color. I cannot bend the finger fully, cannot make a fist, cannot straighten it completely out, it hurts a lot and is extremely swollen(despite me putting ice on it). I haven't had it looked at by a doctor yet. Does this sound like a fracture or a sprain? Is it worth getting it checked out by a doctor?

My betta fish hasn't looked very bright and healthy latley... I got him on August 7, 2006. He was a very alert and happy betta when I got him, but now he looks very depressed. He has been hanging at the VERY BOTTOM of his fish bowl (a big 3 gallon) or at the very top (meaning i can actually see the top/back of him sticking out at the top) and would occasionally (about every minute) he would ZOOM to the top veryyy quickly for air and quickly regain at his still positon. At first I thought he was either sleeping or dead, because I literally had to stick my turkey baster inside the fish bowl and try to see if he was still alive. I even touched him with my own finger and he didn't move! He did move eventually... but I mean... is this normal??? I try to feed him, but it's really heard because he never eats anything unless it's right in front of his mouth. When he's at the bottom I have sinking his food for him to eat it. PLEASE HELP!!
