Regarding a previous answer, it's actually Kaleidocolor, not Kaleidoscope, and while it does have tone control, it's still bleach. And it probably will not give you the blond you're looking for. You are going to have to use bleach, or lightner as some prefer to call it, because you are going to need more than 4 levels of lift. Color and highlift tints are only going to lift your hair to med or light brown, or worse, orange which is much more likely if you're planning on doing this at home. You can't just slap the color on either. It has to applied properly and then watched until you reach the desired level of lightness to get even color. I highly recommend you go to a salon and get a free consultation from a color specialist to determine if you have the skin tone and the type of hair that will withstand the color process. Another thing to consider, the maintenance for keeping black hair blond is brutal. Unless you don't mind having dark roots showing most of the time you may want to consider some alternatives which is another good argument for going to a color specialist for that free consultation. Good luck.

If you put a blonde color on your hair without bleach it might turn to a indiscribable color or it might just lighten it for you. But to get blonde you will have to bleach or strip as they say, the color out first.
