yea it's true, i think it's from the hot water increases your body temperture which makes your blood pressure higher and your heart beat faster which helps the alcohol be absorbed into the bloodstream quicker

Yes! Though I don't know the exact science of it, I think the hot water heats up the blood, making the intake of alcohol affect someone faster and more heavily.
The proof? My friend, whom is a person who has a high alcohol tolerance, sat in a hot tub, had three drinks, and then was quite tanked.

I got drunk in a hot tub once or twice. I dint recommend it, worst hangover i've ever had, and I've had quite a few.

Not a wise idea! It's kind of like drinking while you are out on the water in a boat in the sun. You can also get very dehydrated.

I lost a friend from exactly that. She drank champagne in a hot tub, got drunk, slipped under and drowned.
