The DSL modem that they provided has gone bad. They will send me another one, but require me to stay with them for 12 months. If I leave, they will charge me a boatload of money. I have not been happy with their service and have been planning to switch to another provider within the next few months. In the meantime, I have no internet access at home. Is it standard practice among providers to send you faulty equipment, then suck you in for some extended period of time in order to get a replacement?
