My 4 year old has a nasty cold. Besides his prescribed antibiotics and advised dosages of OTC meds, what can I do to soothe him? His nose is constantly running, but he's still stuffy. He coughs in his sleep and is just restless in general. Any advice?

My son has a terrible teacher this year. I have an appointment with his principal tomorrow to request that he be moved to a different room. News about our issues with this teacher has spread. I recvd. phone calls this evening regarding this teachers past behavior. I am now aware that I will be the third parent this year to request that my child be moved and worse yet this has gone on for years. I will no longer be satisfied if just my child is moved- I want the teacher removed. How can I document her incompetence and make it public knowledge? I am thinking of a format like "www.moviemom.com". What are the issues regarding defamation of character I should be thinking about?

The best teachers in the world are priceless - the worst teachers in the world are also priceless because no amount of money can fix the emotional damage they inflict!

Here is a very possible scenario:

Human population continues to grow exponentially. Eventually, resources are depleted, pollution is rampant, and the population will suffer a steep crash as is the case in laboratory population tests using bacteria in petri dishes etc. Perhaps even nuclear wars over resources etc.

End result: Oceans are virtually lifeless, hardly any trees, pollution covers entire earth, no wildlife, no humans..

The only animals that seem to posses the resiliance to survive in such environments are primarily rats and bugs/roaches.

Here is the question:

Considering what we know about genetics, in terms of evolution, and biology, would planet earth (assuming there are no more humans) recover and again produce the variety of wildlife and plant species it once had?

Also considering that there would be a massive population of rats and roaches, would newly evolved species even stand a chance against these resiliant animals? Or would they be immediately killed off?

I met him 3 years ago.... During that time we became very good friends. We were not inmate. He didnt care about that. We lost contact back in late 04. I was wondered about him. One day I got a phone call from his mother. I never met her or even talked to her. All kinds of things were going through my mind. I always knew he was for me, but there has been some problems since we moved to a new place..He doesnt do the things he used to do... When I tell him that I love him, he says he likes me.. Why cant he tell me he loves me?? When we fight, and I get all upset he says we are going to be forever.. There are no problems in the bedroom. The sex is great!!! I am so lost... I am confused.... What can I do?? Is it me?

I was told to check with the doctor's office if I hadn't heard from them by Monday, Today is Tuesday & I called them this afternoon but they never called back with the results. I would assume that if I have cancer, they'd have gotten back to me asap. Does anybody know if I'm I correct in thinking this?

I datee my x gal for seven months. The first month she wanted me not to talk to her boss by phone because she believed that her boss liked me. I told my x that I wanted to be with her not her boss. They both work at a hair salon. Well a few months went by and my x gal always inquired whether or not her boss had called me. Well, need less to say her boss new a few things about my x gal. her boss revealed to me that my x was married to obtain her green card and all the while she was with me. She did not live with her husband it was a contract per say. As time went on my x gal and I had great times and eventually made love. Seven months into the relationship she wanted to end it with no explanation at all other than she could not make time for me. I never told her what her boss revealed to me. We loved each other very much and the last time I saw her was in june when we had a huge fight. she told me that she made a mistake. Did she mean it? Will she be back?

What does everyone think about immunizations?

I know that a lot of parents are against immunizations, because they fear a connection with autism and other things. However, there have been studies on this that show no connection between the two. And I know that every once in a while a child might have a bad reaction to a vaccine.

But isn't it better that we protect against diseases that are far worse than getting a shot?

There are 20 states that allow parents to sign a waiver for philosophical reasons so their children can attend school without vaccinations. This is partially because these children can act as "free riders", depending on the other children that have gotten immunized. (how can they catch a disease that isn't there?)

But, what if more and more children came to school without being immunized? Would this make our Immunization plan worthless? Wouldn't we see a rise in some diseases we have worked so hard to rid ourselves of?

It's a small, 3 foot tall refrigerator. I can hear it running, and the bar on the inside is just barely getting cold. No brand is listed. It's functioning at room temperature. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
