I was told to check with the doctor's office if I hadn't heard from them by Monday, Today is Tuesday & I called them this afternoon but they never called back with the results. I would assume that if I have cancer, they'd have gotten back to me asap. Does anybody know if I'm I correct in thinking this?

I don't know, but from seeing you I can tell you without benefit of a biopsy that you are suffering from malignant clownoma.

Call your doctors office back asap and tell them you want your results immediately and you will wait for either the doctor or his nurse to give you the results. Just because they haven't contacted you doesn't mean benign usually means they haven't even bothered looking at the test results from the lab.

Check with the hospital or your GP if the results are through yetI I had lumps on my thryroid years ago which were found to be benign but my thyroid was partially removed anyway. I have had no trouble since.

Hi I work at a hospital. I am sorry this does not mean that your test is benign. It just means that they are slow. I have seen this many times, and it drives me crazy when this happens.
Push you doctor for the results. In health care, especially HMO's you have to be assertive.
Get pushy!!

No, it usually takes about two weeks to get a biopsy result back. Give them another week and then see.

probably correct, but biopsy are given to identify problems other than cancer. Those doctors look at those samples as soon as they get them and they know I think, but have to send them in anyway to protect their rear ends

nope - we're not psychic. call them back again and ask for the results - dont assume anything - just get the results back.
