My daughter just turned 9 months and has never been a good sleeper. I have tried the following:
Carseat
Swing
Cry it out (complete failure, she typically cries until she gags)
Rocking her back to sleep
Going in and talking/singing to her but not picking her up
Letting her cry for what felt like forever

She is breastfed and completely average in every way except this sleeping thing. If I put her in bed with me she still only sleeps about 2 hours and then wakes up crying. She has always been a fussy baby. None of my other children ever acted this way and I am really at my wits end on how to get some sleep. Thankfully I am staying at home with her and not returning to work. It has gotten to the point now that if I even attempt to lay her in her crib she wakes up screaming and won't go back to sleep. Crying it out just won't work for her (or me). I just can't stand to see her so upset. Thanks!

Again, This is NOT my work. I am helping a friend with her English work. Also she does not have the internet. She is from Germany and she’s having a hard time understanding English. I am 5 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am terrified. I am not scared of having the baby (we want a baby and were trying) I am terrified something is gonna go wrong. I have been having really bad pelvic cramping/pains for about 10 days. The dr. is not to concerned. but i am. Is this normal. I feel like an emotional wreck. I have my first us next week 10/18 (6 weeks preg) I am so scared they are not gonna find the hearbeat (doc said we would). Is this normal. Please help if you have any info. Thanks Erika

i think that certain words in our language are looked down upon because of some fear or taboo associated with them, like "the N word" that sounds like part of Arnold Schwarzenegger's name. Or "September 11th." By allowing these words so much power over us and our emotions, we force ourselves into ignorance. So i propose a little experiment. your assignment is to use a word today in conversation and then report back what you said and what the reaction was. Now obviously you cant REALLY say "I havent seen any one get screwed that bad since September 11th" when your order at the Mc Donalds drive thru window is wrong, but you can use the word "honky". It is a relatively harmless slur. So go forth and use the word "honky" and then tell us about it! best story gets the points!

I've had a scab on my bottom lip for a few weeks now and it just won't heal. I think it started out as a cold sore.

It seems to start to get better during the day, but then it will bleed overnight and i'm back to square one. I've been trying not to aggravate it, but it's impossible to eat/drink/brush teeth without getting wet lips and so the scab softens and comes off before healing properly.

I've tried vaseline, blistex and a couple of other creams. Does anyone have any suggestions for how i can get rid of it? I look like I've got a horrible disease and it's really upsetting me.

AKC just another money grab?

Please read the following two emails, both may be forwarded. The AKC is viewed by many ordinary citizens as a lobbying leader and a class act in support of good health and breeding practices, and is long associated with dog fanciers who breed only for the betterment of the breed. Over the last several years, the AKC has used the public's perception to increasingly line their pockets with product endorsements. Is this behavior becoming for a 501c3 non-profit corporation? No more. The AKC is nothing more than a registry, and this week, even that has lost its starch. The American Kennel Club has entered into a contract allowing Petland employees to register puppies online at the time of purchase. I'll post more as it becomes available, and believe me, it will.

Petland discount pet store?? Why would the AKC want to be affiliated with that?
