this is the 3rd day I have had hives and the second day I been taking Claritin, seems to work but will it get better and when?

I have a friend who has been quite depressed lately...he feels alone and no matter how hard he works he never gets great results (just avg. ones). He's even thought about committing suicide and feels that no one cares about him. I feel so very helpless and I do not know what to do to make him feel better. I myself am going through a rough time and hence I guess am bogging him down with my probelms too! We don't meet up, just talk on the phone (we used to go to the same school but he recently shifted to another school). I know not much will make me feel better but I want to make things better for him as I feel that I've made his life worse.However, I have no ideas.He's not very open and keeps a lot of things to himself...both of us have problems trusting people {due to various experiences}.We both need someone and I'd like to be that person for him and whenever I try to help him or try to get through him it never works.I feel like a horrible friend. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am writing a history report where we have to state what the consequences of colonialism in Africa and Asia were. Am I looking to far ahead when I say that World War I was a consequnce of European colonialism? Or would a better answer be Anticolonialism?

Many countries have tales / movies and pictures about Mermaid.. It is just legendary creature or real existing/existed on this world? I once saw (in net) a series of pics of dead Mermaid, near a beach (with human head and fish tail). I am not sure the pics are fakes or not.

I am 23 and my 25 yr old brother was in a horrible automobile accident last week, and he recently passed away in the hospital while I was holding onto his hands, his wife was killed instantly. It was a very sad moment because he had a newborn son that is just 2 weeks old and he was so proud he was a father, and he had just gotten married a year ago. I was in the hospital room visiting him and he told me he didn't think he was gonna make it, he started to cry and he asked me if I could be the role model, father, and dad of his new son. and I was speechless. we had never cried in front of eachother in about 8 yrs or so, needless to say that was a very sad moment. I sobbingly told him I would be honored to be the father figure for his son and that I would take good care of him. wow, this is starting to get to me...... anyways I went to grab a quick bite to eat from the snack bar and when I came back, 4 doctors were in his room. My ex-boyfriend(w/ a drinking problem)had broke up w/me 3 x's from 1999-2004.(1st x -after 6 ms. 2nd x -after 6 ms. 3rd x -after 9 ms.)He called again Feb.'06(Tuesday)joking that I'd not sent him a Christmas card that year)We talked awhile..he said he'd called 2-3 x's Dec.-Jan. (I didn't get the messges and don't have call ID) -Asked to take me and my 12 year old son out -dinner /movie that Thursday..cancelled the day of..working late/going in early next day(said he'd call me soon-make it up to me) I called his machine to say "got his message-yeah-another time maybe..blah..blah. He called a week later on Sunday morning 9:30 AM..said he was thinkin' about me.(all mushy and @#$%)Didn't re-ask our "night out" from before...just chatted.Said he'd call me soon. His grandpa's death announcement was in the paper 2 wks later. I called to say sorry for his loss(we talked 3 min. max)-thanked me 4 calling..haven't talked since!!(March) Holidays comin'(I KNOW he'll call)WHAT do I do THIS next time
