1. The sum of two numbers is 36. If the largers is divided by the smaller the
quotient is 2 and the remainder is 3. Find the number.

2. The denominator of a fraction is 4 less than the numerator. If the denominator is doubled and the numerator is increased by 6, the sum of the original fraction and the new one is 3. Find the original fraction..

I would use the word, "smarmy," but I'm not so sure that's right. Early morning news anchors drive me nuts when they laugh at stupid dry jokes that aren't funny and you know that their laughing is not genuine. It just really ticks me off.

I have to make a HUGE decision here and I am so afraid to make the wrong one.
My husband and I have been together for 6 years, he has 2 children from a previous marriage and he and I have a 4 year old together.
When my husband and I are alone or with our youngest we get along pretty good but when his other kids are around the stress builds and we fight. His kids can't stand me and I can't figure out why. I care for them, cook, clean, talk to and listen to them. I am firm but fair and give them structure in a comfortable home but...they will not accept me. It is so bad that my step son (15yrs) actually shot one of my most beloved pets while I was away on a holiday and he shot it because his sister told him to...to hurt me. My heart was broken but there were NO reprocussions for what this kid did. Life went on as usual for him...I suffered the loss and no one cared. I feel that no one cares at all about my feelings in any of this.

Moved to nice safe/ little traffic community in another country a few months ago. Noticed how children here are raised to be very independent which I think it is great, but I feel unable to give my child the same "liberties" other parents here do at that same age. Lived the last 12 yrs in Washington DC and maybe still to soon to think its ok to do so? Examples: (1) All children walk to-from kindergarten by themselves, no parent in sight (2) 10 year old mown the loan themselves (3) 3 yr olds play completely unsupervised in the bldgs common yard for up to 2 hrs at a time. (4) 11 & 13 yr old walk home after soccer (fussball) game and celebrations ends at 11 PM. Neighbohrs think its funny that I say I will not let my child do these things at these ages.

How do you address this situation. I have been "dating" off and on for over 2 years a woman who pulls me in but when things get too close she backs off. She is still tangled up with her ex g/f simply b/c they have a child,she says she still has left over feelings for her. I saw her last nite for the first time in 2 weeks b/c we were both working in and out of town. Prior to her leaving 2 weeks ago she told me she was done with the ex g/f and was tired of the constant arguing etc with her...said she wasnt going to see her anymore. We had been enjoying probably the best time in our dating "career" at that point. Now, shes back, I am back and we spent time together yesterday and this morning. We had fun and laughed...but the spark was sort of not there. Am I asking for too much? I feel my own inability to speak up has hindered things to some degree. She told me she was going to spend time reflecting on her situation while she was gone. What would you say, do, ask, or act?

Last night I packed some fresh chicken breasts into freezer bags. As I was about to put them in the freezer, I had to run and do something very quick. I forgot about them for 5 hours. :( They felt cool to the touch, so I put them in the freezer. What are the chances they are still okay??? I know they're probably bad, but I can't stand to throw all that meat out without knowing for sure. Please, only answer if you know for sure, no guessing please. Thanks.

I'm from Chicago area, and very sad and pissed that this is happening to you guys. We have been bleeding for years, from the steel mills on down. We know what its like, believe me! Hang

I'm presuming most job loss will be in the suburbs....is that the case? Do you see a mass migration out of the Detroit area period
if the big three swing the ax as heavy as the papers say?
Is Detroit trying to diversify the area economy? How about
a tech center, per the compuware building area?
