Read the responses you get from women. Need I say anymore. They want to be at the top of the food chain. Marriages do not work like that. Even religion does not agree with that. Yet still they think they are superior to men. Even if you dissect the words men and woman. You will notice that wo-men is an apex to men. Not the other way around. Blame it on the woman's liberation movement, in the 60's. They are a victim of their own success and the net result is divorce and the moral decay of society...

Is scary if you listen to the percentages of marriages that fail and you get scared you might be one of them. Also, prior relationships affect the future ones and taking the big step is not something you consider lightly.
Also, many men not all, dont want to work, dont make plans for the future, are intimidated by a woman who makes more money than then, or just dont want to take the full responsibility of what a marriage is all about.

That's a pretty major generalization - all you have to do is look at the multi-billion dollar wedding insustry to know that it's not true.
It sounds like what you may actually be asking is why is YOUR modern day girl running away from marriage. And that's something only she can answer. It's just like asking "Why are guys afraid of commitment?" The simply answer is that not all guys are, and those that are have many varied reasons. (Not wanting to be hurt, fear of only being with one woman/man the rest of your life, not wanting to be tied into society's idea of what's "proper," fear of losing your independence, fear of repeating past mistakes, etc.)

Unfortunately women & young girls in particular are being taught in the higher levels of our public school system(6th grade & up) that having a career should be the "#1 priority" & to prove to the male of the species that they are "equal"!
While there are good opportunities for women to have a career, having a marriage to ONE MAN & starting a family(either by regular means or adoption) should also be important!
But some women do choose not to get married & that's fine. There are many good men out there who want to get married, and they are not all like Orenthal!

For everyone it is different. I think it is a combination of things. People are waiting until later in life, and I think that we become more selfish and do not want to make sacrafices in life (marriage, as with any relationship, is full of sacrafices). Also, women are more likely to be able to provide for themselves financially, there is less pressure to have children at a young age...the list goes on and on.
Also, we are a generation of children of divorce. I think alot of women have been scared by watching divorce rip apart their family, or that of close friends. And with that said, why rush into marriage? More than 60% of them fail.
I think it comes down to this. Todays women a more "realist" than ever before. If a relationship is working as it is, why change it? If its not, why commit? We have more opportunity to succed on our own than ever before, and I think so many women are enjoying that as long as they can in life. But there is also the fact that many women are pursuing a career and other interests which leaves little time to really nurture a realtionship and give it an opportunity to grow into something that you want to see succeed.

First not all girls are. And second for those that are they're probably seeing the enormous rate of divorce - who wants to get married when statistically these days most marriages end up in divorce anyway?

They are running away from mariage because they might be abused in the relationship or thye would probably end up divorced and have to take care of 3 kids, so they shouldn't marry anyway.
