My dad was worried that my husband would be able to bring home military weapons. He called just to tell me not to let him (we had 3 very small boys preoccupied with being in the army).

I assured my dad that they wouldn't allow military weapons to be brought home.

I have been at my current position for a year. It was a "temp-to-hire" position, with the assumption I WOULD be hired after a year. Now, they're not sure because the company is enduring a "hiring freeze". I love my job, but I haven't been motivated at ALL the past month or so since the freeze started. I do just what I can to get by, and I have no desire to go "above and beyond". I also don't make a lot of money, I have no health benefits, and no paid days off. Am I just burnt out at my current job because I see no future in it? I feel as though my life is on hold while I sit and wait for something to materialize. I used to love this job, but I just don't know what I think about it now. I've applied to several other companies doing exactly what I do now. I guess what I'm asking is, should I go for the other jobs, or do you think it's just the job itself that unmotivates me and not the company itself? I think it's the company, not the job, but I wanted other opinions. Thanks!

I used to have what's called an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) which basically gives ur computer a constant voltage supply. I live here as an expat in Manila btw. Recently the UPS got busted and the computer is directly plugged into the socket which makes it vulnerable to voltage fluctuations etc.

We don't exactly suffer black outs ever. I want to know how urgent it is to get something to replace the UPS and if there's a cheaper alternative.
Your answers are much appreciated.

I am an avid RPG-er (role play gamer). That's right, I play Dungeons and Dragons, MERP, and soon, Star Trek.

There seems to be a stereotype revolving around gamers that stemmed from the 80's: unclean, live-with-mama, pimply faced geeks who shun from socialization. This is not true anymore today, yet you still see it on various sorts of media.

So, my question is, why is Fantasy Sport more manly than RPG-ing? Is it because sports are more macho? In reality, Fantasy Sports is almost the same as RPG-ing, just without the dice.

Just as we all don't dress in our Medeival garb to play our characters, you all don't dress as Ian Payton.

So come on, give- why isn't Fantasy Sports considered RPG-ing?

(whoo, I can't wait for the answers for this one...oh, and pay attention - I am female, a college graduate, and a mother of three. Do I fit the stereotype?)

If you are living in Sept. 10th, you believe that:

a) when people get mad at you, it is automatically your fault.

b) when people do evil to you, it is still your fault, because you did something wrong to make them mad in the first place

c) there are no evil people, except those that claim there ARE evil people, and that we should go to war against them before they destroy us.

d) you should do nice things to people who want to harm you, to make up for the bad thing you must have done to them, and to make them love you and be your friend.

e) if people who want you dead also hate a specific group of people (such as Jews), you should also hate that group of people to help win the friendship of those wanting you to die.

If you live in Sept. 11th, you know that:

a) There are evil people in the world who want to destroy the West. These people must be stopped using any means necessary. We must protect our freedom and our way of life. We must stand by our friends.

I turned it on low. Now I am at work worrying about it because I forgot to check the inside of the chicken for the "insides in a package". Do I need to run home during my luch break to take out the giblet package? It was a pre-merinated chicken, so I didn't rinse it out.

I have spawned 2 broods...both lived for only a week, then they died. I feed them Small Fry food for the first week and had not yet started them on brine shrimp. I looked into getting a sponge filter, but the people at the pet store said that I did not need it (all the research says to though). I can not find one anywhere in my area. Is the filter my problem? I have an airstone, but again, the pet store said it was not needed. I have a bio filter that came with the tank (5 gal), and I thought about putting foam and small mesh (to keep the babies from being sucked to the foam) around the intake to use as a filter. Will that work? I don't want to spawn again and loose those too.

Please no stupid comments people. I am having the hardest time finding a job. I am a full-time student, who goes to school 6 nites a week. I will have my bachelors next summer, and I am going for my PhD in Psychology. I need to obviously find a job while in school, something that will work with me for the next many years of school. I got laid off back in May, and have not been able to find ajob since then, and am very serioisly lacking in my bills. Im only 19, and in debt probably more than any adult I know, because I had a steady income, and then just like that, I was laid off. Does anyone have any serious suggestions of jobs that are good in school, and will work around your school schedule? Thank you.
