Please no stupid comments people. I am having the hardest time finding a job. I am a full-time student, who goes to school 6 nites a week. I will have my bachelors next summer, and I am going for my PhD in Psychology. I need to obviously find a job while in school, something that will work with me for the next many years of school. I got laid off back in May, and have not been able to find ajob since then, and am very serioisly lacking in my bills. Im only 19, and in debt probably more than any adult I know, because I had a steady income, and then just like that, I was laid off. Does anyone have any serious suggestions of jobs that are good in school, and will work around your school schedule? Thank you.

Your best resource for finding a job is networking with others such as those you go to school with, your counselors, family members, friends, etc. You said you had a job but were laid off. Is there another place of employment that is similar to the place you were working at? Also, check with your institution of higher education. They might have something that is in your field of studies. But they should also have resources to help you find employment. The other suggestion is to talk with your local department of labor. They will be able to point you in the right direction with other resources for work. And as far as the debt goes, you may want to go to a consumer debt counselor. There should be a non-profit organization that can help you with that. I mention it b/c the sooner you get a handle on it, the better off you will be long term. A good financial education is just as vital as your other studies. Good luck!

What kind of work were you doing before? Have you looked into a job with adults with disabilities or children in a group home, there are sometimes jobs like that and that may help you with your degree as well. There are always telemarketing jobs around ( I know that they are a pain but they usually pay pretty well.) Have you checked with the student affairs office? They may be able to help. Try monster.com too and put your resume there. Also the state employment office may be able to help. Good Luck.

I don't know if you are looking for a career or a job, but if it is just a job. Check out restaurants. If you are good, you could make a killing a waiting tables. Maybe at Olive Garden, Fridays, Unos, etc. Think places that serve alcohol. People are more willing to give better tips after they have had a few. Good Luck!

Are you getting financial Aid? if not, you should try there, if you qualify then you could do Work-Study, not a king lifestyle, but then you work on campus or near and they are usually REALLY understanding and flexible with college schedule. You could also see if your college has a career center, sometimes you can find part-time jobs in the field you are studying. Hope it helps and Good luck

a very good option is to work from home on your computer - write articles, sell on eBay, make a website, take surveys...nd make money on ur own!

or just join some local restaurant or pizza joint or do stuff like cleaning, gardening, babysitting and so on! Such opportunities abound in local classifieds and billboards, just check around :)

Do you have time to walk dogs: house sit: bake gourmet muffins: write freelance articles or software - try www.elance.com - do drop shipping for goods you sell on eBay; make jewelry to sell at weekend flea markets and craft fairs. etc?

What do you like to do? Can you turn it into a part time business? If the answer is yes, you don't have to worry about being laid off again.

Try a Temp Agency. Your writing indicates intelligence. That is sorely needed in many companies.
