i have an 1.6 16 value lx 1994 ford escort. wondering if anybody know where to get a cheap turbo conversion kit for them from in the north west lancsahire

find a salvage yard with a ford probe gt turbo or mazda mx-6 turbo and remove all components they all bolt up to your application also fits b seris pickup

Mazda built a turbo version of that engine, if that's the same Escort they sold in the US - the turbo engine came in the 323 GT, 323 GTX, and the Mercury Capri XR2. Your best bet would be to import a whole engine from Japan and swap it in, as that will give you both the turbo and the internal upgrades to handle it.

There's a lot of companies in the US importing used engines from Japan - there's bound to be a few in the UK too.

cheap turbo conversion is going to cost around 5 times the value of the car, what about mk4 turbo? some nice one's still about.

You would probably be better off looking for a 2 litre 16 valve lump to go into it, it would cost about the same (if not a bit less) and give as much power if not more.

I would go for the bigger engine option 1st as you dont have to worry about any turbo lag, also as all ready stated on here its gona probably be cheaper as well
