The system should be .......if you contribute, then you are entitled to benefit............how simple is that. We would all like to go to other countries & immediatley take up any benefits that are available, but I dont know anywhere that allows it apart from good old soft touch UK. We have been too condescending for too long to the point now where we mainly moan but accept it as a fact of life..........there needs to be something done & soon..........our systems of healthcare & social security benefits etc are spiralling into oblivion due to all those claiming whilst not entitled to ....and that includes our own people who claim benefits whilst working etc. If we all played the game & used the benefits for legitimate reasons & the benefits were not more than an average wage in some cases there wouldnt be so many keen to take them up

No! There are too many immigrants coming to this country and using up vital resources. If the government dont put a stop to it soon we are going to be over run. The NHS cannot cope as it is and that is what attracts alot of immigrants free health care and benefits. They are currently queing up in their thousands in Romania etc for when they become part of the EU so they can immigrate to UK. I am not saying that immigrants cant come here but in the last few years hundreds of thousands of immigrants have came to the UK. If they are going to work etc then fine but not to claim benefit. Plus where is everyone going to live? It has been known in the past for immigrants to jump to the top of housing lists when UK citizens have been on waiting lists for years. Im sorry but the government needs to put better controls into place on the immigration system.

Is that a National Front meeting? Sorry for interrupting if it is...
Overall, immigrants pay more taxes than they get benefits, and that's the case in most developped countries.
These are the hard facts, now you can have moral issues about a mixed society, but that's a very different matter.
By the way, I'm kind of against immigration when it's a question of survival, I wish people didn't have this only solution to make their lifes better and could have ways to develop their own countries. So raise international aid and make international trade fair!

It depends on each individual's situation.
However, I do feel strongly that the UK needs to tighten up their belt with regards to who they allow into the country. Why don't we fingerprint people like they do in the US? Why don't we check their crudentials and any criminal records? How often do we get immigrants who have committed a crime and their whole history comes out... after having a detrimental, sometimes, devastating, effect. We should not even let them pass the gates at the airport and send them straight home.
Some of these immigrants come in and become illegal workers, run illegal (and often dangerous) businesses, or even just become a threat to society via their actions.... I am all for helping people who need our help to become part of the UK community, however, threat to this by people who are here to abuse the system and bring the country's good, humane and ethical ethos shoud be booted out - we're obviously not good enough for them to want to be proud of being part of this country.

No they shouldnt, unless they are doing somthing for our country! but the government should be trying to help our own people out before letting other people from other countries have out jobs.
i work for an airline and i see many things that infuriate me! like people who have british passports but cant speak english! i now actually tell them that they dont have the right for a british passport if they can speak our language!
also we used to have a bloke that worked for us who was polish and he was saying that at the end of every tax year he goes back to poland and claims his taxes back! he shouldnt be able to live in this country and have our free nhs etc if he's then going to get his goverment to get the money back from out government! he nows doesnt work for us as people grassed him up to the tax office! what a shame!

In a word - NO. Why should we have to pay for them anyway? If they come over here they should be means tested - if they don't have a job, a skill or enough money to live on for the rest of their life they shouldn't be granted entry.
They should also be able to speak FLUENT english and fall in line with our religions and ways of life rather than demanding planning applications to build their own mosques etc. If a british person wanted to emigrate to another country they are expected to speak the language and conform to that country's way of life.
This happens in other countries such as Australia, Canada and Jersey so why can't the UK do the same?

We have already got rules in place which on paper are difficult on immigrants. What we lack is any will to enforce them. Failed asylum seekers are no longer sent abode, criminals are no longer deported (that distinctive regulation ought to do with tightening up so as that folk of offender dispositions who're sentenced to diminish than one twelve months's imprisonment are booted out) and all varieties of bogus claimants to reward are in our midst, apparently prospering. people who have been granted asylum as a non everlasting degree are no longer decrease back while issues cool down of their very own us of a. we are giving jobs to eastern Europeans at an identical time as our very own childrens stay interior the dole queue. meanwhile, successive governments teach impressive reluctance to take the bull with the help of the horns. once you notice how business enterprise the immigration rules of British foreign places Territories are and how complicated it rather is to get a paintings enable, you should ask your self why we will not teach equivalent firmness right here interior the mother us of a.

we should indeed have tighter immigration laws like Australia. if they want to live here then they should prove that they can be able to support themselves and/or their families. its not racism to want to restrict the number of people coming over, the country can only provide so much monetary relief before it becomes too overstretched.
another unfortunate side affect is that the BNP, the workings man's very own Nazi party, is using this to their advantage in order to gain voters. the scary thing is that in some areas they have been succesfull! and dont even get me started on Robert Kilroy Silk, the nasty, mean minded little bigot!

Britain made their wealth by invading and colonizing other countries against their will, so without that you will not make the money in the first place, this is time for you to work so that those people should enjoy.

We don't treat immigrants any better than anyone else. This is the type of rubbish they read in Papua and such and think its easy here. It is no wonder they all flock down. What we dont tell them is that they get £30 per week for them and their six kids and they are soon more destitute than they were back home and they then enter prostitution and other criminality to make ends meat. That's what.
