I'm asking this to prove something. I have a friend, she had a male friend who, has a daughter. Now, he had mentioned he didn't carry a picture of his child around, because it hurt when people started asking a lot of questions. He can't see his child.
A few days ago, she was distressed about something, and brought up his child. The next day she realized she hurt him. He said she 'betrayed his trust'.
Now, is this her fault? He never mentioned he didn't want her to touch the subject of his daughter. In my eyes, it's on him for not saying "Hey, this subject hurts me, can you not bring it up?"
She's blaming herself for not knowing by him not carrying a picture of his kid around. Should she?
