My Physics teacher, who's a very intellegent man, mentioned something about them lending the tapes to Hollywood and never getting them back.

Yes, that is true. The original tapes cannot be found (they will eventually) Of course, there are still copies of those tapes, as well as broadcasts, but the quality is less on those tapes.

The original films yes.But they have been reproduced so many times none of the footage has been lost.After 40 years the film itself would have been junk anyway if not stored properly.

yeah its true but they are sending the original cast of those tapes back to the dessert to re film it.
