46&2: Is it OK to date a Muslim girl?
There is this girl in my class that is just so beautiful! We talk very casually but over the past year I have came to develope a huge crush on her. We are in college adn she is a Muslim. I feel that because I am a white, non-religious, american that she would not even consider going out with me! I don't even know if she can go out? I have learned about Islam, but the problem is the cultural taboo that it is (and would) for her. Are there any other Muslim girls out there who can share some input? Can you date a man who is outside the religion (I don't beleive in God). Also, a person outside of the culture? She doesn't seem very judgmental and the flirtation is there. What do you think?

I am 28, just married to a man with two girls 13 and 10. with this marriage i gained 3 dogs and a cat and about 11 pounds. I am 5'6" and weigh 132 and just found out that i am 4 weeks pregnant. When i told my mother the first thing she said was well its about time you start your diet you dont want to get fat. I am and have always been the biggest person in my family. I am not tall and skinny like my mom and sis, i am short and curve like me....I know that with a pregnancy a woman gains 20-25 pounds. However when my sis had her baby she gained 56 pounds and my mother had her on every diet she could think of. How do i tell my mother to butt out with out being rude. I dont want her to butt out of my life, just drop the "FAT" subject.

My cousin just came back from Iraq about 2 months ago and one of the questions I asked her was hearing all this talk about bashing the war here in America ever lower your morale while in Iraq? She told me yes because she wanted the mission she helped start to be finished completely. She also told me about the Iraqi's who wanted the U.S. to help and about there struggles that the Iraqi's faced every day just by going to work. She told me that people who support a pull out of soldiers need to go down there and see that there are Iraqi's that want us to stay and help. Finally she said it would feel like a punch in the stomach if we left the job unfinished because so many Americans and Iraqi's have died fighting for the freedom of Iraq. To all soldiers who have served in Iraq and who may be serving in Iraq hearing this talk about leaving Iraq and bashing the war does it lower your morale?

well, weve been married for 18 years already. i was 16 and he was 20 then. its just that i have caught him thru text messages which led me to actually talk with the girl which he had seen only a day after i knew and it turned out that it was the first time they saw each other. my point is, i can understand that men can be like that but simply the thought of having girlfriends thru txt is a reality that he still want to have anything with other women. but, after each time we fight, he makes it up to mt the best way he could. still, it hurts.

In a theatre class I was considered theatrically ignorant because I was not familiar with all of the plays of Eugene O'Neil, Tennessee Williams, and others like Thorton Wilder. The fact that I was familiar with minority playwrights was insignificant. Why is it a must to know white artist, but it doesn't matter if you don't know minority artist?

I'd rather have an open mind than be a stick in the mud. I'd rather that the money I pay in taxes would go to help other citizens. I'd rather the government help people when their cities have been decimated by hurricanes, floods, etc. I'd rather try to see Arabs, Israelis, Mexicans, all people, as just that: people, with all their various ways of thinking, all their bumps and sins, all their beauty. (Because we are all made in the image of God, right ? ) (That's a question for the Christian fundamentalists) Remember: "Love your neighbor as yourself"? (Jesus, when asked about the greatest Commandment.) What's wrong with feeling that whatever I do to the least of Jesus' brothers (Jews and Arabs would be closest kin, wouldn't they), that I do unto Him?
And, if you're NOT Christian, what's wrong with the golden rule?
Oh yeah, one more thing: Who died and made YOU boss?

I am 31, have one wonderful 3 yo son and a wonderful marriage. I work outside the home, and my husband works nights so we can keep him out of daycare, for the most part. We are very content with one child, but our son expresses a lot of interest in having sibling, and I sometimes wonder if I'll regret it later if we only have one.

We are a very active family, and I worry about a second child holding us back. I have tried to think this out logically, but my pros and cons always counterbalance each other.

I'd love to hear from parents who did have that second child, and those who didn't. What are your thoughts?

My mother-in-laws is dying of liver cancer. I quit my job to help her and her husband out. My problem is I can't get any of the family to help out. They use the excuse that they work. I sit around most days and watch her slipping away and I could use a brake.

My mother put me threw hell as a child. She would manage her marriage with complete disregard to how her fighting and arguments with her husband affected her childrens state of mind. Then, as I grew up she continued to treat me like a child and still does: disrespects my wishes, insults my decisions, and treats me as though I was still 3. So why should I "honour thy mother...?"
