I'm not really sure on how to start my answer 'cuz it really starts with a question. Is there really different colored skin in this world? I thought we were all the same. I don't know about the rest of you put I honestly don't go out of my way to prove I'm not racist. I don't have to I have a sister who is 1/2 black and white but I don't see her any way but my sister. Ya I'm full white and she is mixed but honestly she is more bueatiful because of that mixture then if she had been full white like me. I have always since I can remember been friends with every color, race, nationality, because after all aren't we all just human and under our skin don't we all have the same thing? A heart, blood, bones and flesh. And after all when we bleed dont we all bleed the same color? So to answer your question no I don't think as you say "white people" don't go out of thier way to let "black people" know they are not racist. Thank you for reading this Jennifer

Yes! To be honest I do this too. I think it's because white people are constantly being accused of being racist! I've seen a white girl look at a black girl the wrong way and they were called racist. I do think it's wrong that I do go out of my way to make black people not feel as though I'm racist...it's just such a touchy subject! Now that I think of it though...when I'm with all my mexican friends I can make Mexican jokes and we can all laugh yet sometime I don't know what to expect from a black person!

Yes .Because if you don't then you become a target.I remember being at work and seeing a guy ask out a black woman.Big mistake. She said "I don't do vanilla you cracker".If the roles were reversed he would have been fired on the spot.I think most racists in this country are minorities nowadays. In fact I will say that most who read this will say that I am a racist for not giving a politicaly correct answer.

In South Africa that does seem to be a problem especially amongst White Afrikaans SA. I get the idea that because they are perceived as being racist - they need to go out of their way to prove that they aren't. On the flip side -there are the few that are just plain racist and don't care.

I would say most people in reference to cops and public officials yes. I grew up in a town with only 1 family that was African American and they always got extra help from everyone even when they did not asked it was like the town was saying LOOK WE ARE NOT RACISTS.
Me personally I do not have act. My first wife was not from the united states I spend more time since being adult with no Caucasians and relate to them better.

YES! Unfortunately , that is rarely recognized for what it is, and seems to be purposely misconstrued as weakness or guilt.

Many feel that they are human beings like them and hence treat them as such.
