As the bus stopped and it was her turn to get on, she became aware that her skirt was way too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the first step of the bus.

Slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver, she reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little, thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg. She tried to take the step, only to discover that she still couldn't!

So, a little more embarrassed, she once again reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little more, and for the second time attempted the step.

Once again, much to her chagrin, she could not raise her leg.

With a little smile to the driver, she again reached behind to unzip a little more and yet again was unable to take the step.

About this time, a large Texan who was standing behind her picked her up easily by the waist and placed her gently on the step of the bus.

She went ballistic and turned to the would-be Samaritan and screeched, "How dare you touch my body! I don't even know who you are!"

The Texan smiled, tipped his hat, and drawled, "Well, ma'am, normally I would agree with you, but after you unzipped my fly three times, I kind'a figured we was pretty good friends."

I have a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT with a 4.0 SOHC and I want to know how much weight or what type of boat I can haul with the towball on the bumper. Also (for Ford Explorer owners), are Ford Explorers good towing vechicles?

"We, the family of Nicholas Berg, extend our sympathies to the families of Kim Sun-il, Paul Johnson Jr., Robert Jacobs, Kenneth Scroggs, Bassam Salih Kubba and Kamal al-Jarah. We hope they will find the strength to endure the pain of their losses. We also extend our sympathies to all the families and friends of all the victims of this war, including United States military, other coalition military, contractors, and the 11,000-plus innocent Iraqi victims. We have been silent until now to avoid for the Johnson and Sun-il families any association our son's death may have had."
Why is it, that this man, whose son was brutally murdered, and said murder being televised and publicized, can find it in his heart to say these actions are wrong, and we (being the majority) who have not lost loved ones can not?
I lost family on 9/11 at the Pentagon, am I wrong for not wanting more bloodshed?

My daughter is 5 years old. She is starting kindergarten in a public school this year due to the fact that I cannot afford private schooling, and I do not have time to homeschool due to my two jobs(I am a single parent of two).

My concern is that at 5 years old she can already count as high as she pleases, she can add single and single/double digit numbers, she can subtract single digit numbers, she knows the phone numbers and addresses of almost everyone we know(some of which I don't even know the numbers), she is doing 1st Grade workbooks, and can read simple books(as well as some with up to 6 letter words). She is very advanced for her age and I would like to know if there is anything that I can do to esure that she is learning new things in school. I am afraid that she will get bored and in turn dislike school. I would like to see her advance at a level that is appropriate for her learning abilities. Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have any advice??

"Truth is stranger than fiction." This is *the* reference quote for most folks but, what purpose does it serve other than just sounding good?

I think stories no matter how reality-based will remain stories. In fiction, everything has a reason- someone's death, someone's success, someone's pain... The writer has to justify nearly everything in a story.

Can it be compared to real lives where things have no reason or order.... or do they?

P.S. I just made up this question after reading the preface of a story book. I hope you like the question.
