I grew up with a tight knit family, always gettin together for family functions and holidays. We are considering a move cross because we love the area and we are looking forward to a fresh start, but really, thats the only reason. If we move, we are taking our children away from their aunts, unlces, cousins and grandchildren. I am sad that they will miss out on that. Should we stay?

Given any random coordinates (such as 2,3 or 4,5) in the lower left quadrant, how can you divide a 10x10 piece of property through that random coordinate such that the divided portion has the smallest possible area?

I understand that the formula is (2ab), "a" and "b" being the coordinates, but is there a logical explantion to this?

I mean, all you uptight conservatives are being way to anal about this whole thing. Rough racing has always been a part of NASCAR. Dale Sr, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison, etc. did it all the time and no one really cared. But if Tony Stewart does it everyone gets all butt hurt about it. I'm not saying what Tony did was right, but let it go. If it had been some other driver no one would have cared close to this much. I can't wait to see Tony win the championship this year and shut all you people up.

You can't deny that Tony is a great driver. Anyone who does knows nothing about motorsports.

My nephew was killed by someone right behind his house.The person ran him down and backed up over him and left. I and the police have been questioning people, but no one knows what happen. But the guy that was with him said he saw him get into the car. This guy told my sister-law what happen,but she isn't talking to the police. If she does know the truth can she get on trouble for holding it?

There is a witch in our town. I know she is because she has a mole on the side of her nose and she is not married. I brought this issue up at our last council meeting, but they did not accept my accusations on face-value (sic).

In the US, we are taught that there are 7 continents (North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Australia). We are taught this 7 continent rule as if it were law. (At least, that's how I was taught.)

In some parts of the world, they are taught that there are 5 or 6 continents (I believe they are taught as America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, and sometimes Antarctica).

What are your thoughts on this? What makes a continent a continent? How were you taught continents? Any informed geography majors out there want to weigh in on this?

I have my own thoughts on how they should be taught, as a Political Science grad student, but is there a general standard based on physical geography?
