Because, you know, I've been looking over the bible recently, and I've realized that it doesn't make a great deal of sense. There are countless hypocricies and errors within the novel, contradictions made by Jesus himself, as well as statements that are completely impossible. What sort of merciful God would make a race capable of deciding matters on it's own, then punish them after they display a bit of independance? Why do we experiance an eternity of pain for a finate series of sins? If people are imperfect, why is the Pope infallable?

Anyone wanna try to convince me that everything is fine and that the bible is perfect?

I was adopted at birth. It was set up by my adoptive dad's boss and his wife. We are still in contact with them, and they said whenever I'm ready, they'll tell me everything. I'm 18 years old. Last week, I found out for the first time that my birth mother wanted to have an abortion but it was too late. I feel incredibly hurt. I used to think that my adoption was because she loved me and knew she couldn't take care of me, but now I know that she would rather have killed me. No one else understands. I am now contemplating contacting the couple that set up my adoption because I'm tired of not knowing and want all of this to be behind me. I guess what I'm looking for here is support and suggestions on what to say to my adoptive family- who is the best I could ask for, by the way- from people who actually know what I'm going through. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am a first year teacher and I just saw my classroom for the first time today. Unfortunately, my excitement faded when I found that I was given a science lab to teach math in. In the front of the room is a very large demonstration table and eye wash station, both of which are immoveable. I have a dry erase board to use, but it is behind the table, putting the students at least 10-15 feet away. There is no way to move the dry erase board sonce the side walls are lined with cabinets, and the back wall has a door opening leading to the room next door. Does anyone have suggestions to help me?
