I am taking it you meant combat pilots.

They can retire the same time any other person wants to retire. You have to serve at least 20 years before retirment.

We aren't actually "retired". Past a certain age and rank, we're moved to other areas of aviation in which our skills and leadership abilities are needed. For those of us who have been in more than 10 to 12 years, this normally means instructor and command status. But to officially retire from the military, 20 years is required.
