umm....It's a really really nice thing to do. You have to have a lot of heart to do something like that, but courage as well because it would be like your own baby that you're giving up after the birth. Plus, if you have a spouse or significant other you should talk it over with them. It reminds me of that Friend's episode when Phoebe decided to carry her brother's children, and finally when she gave birth to his either twins or triplets she was so sad because she had to give them up. But...do what you feel, not what you think and don't let us (ppl you don't know) decide for you. good luck ;-)

I wouldn't be able to give up a baby I had been carrying for 9+ months. Even though they are just in your belly and you cant see them or anything you still have a special bond with it. If I did ever do it though It would have to be for a stranger and not for a friend or family member. If I was giving up my baby(or a baby I was carrying) I couldn't stand seeing it at family get togethers or get togethers with friends and see the kid playing around and know that that could have been my baby and so on.

No, I wouldn't do it.
This world is not fit to bring any more children into.
There is pollution everywhere you look. Air pollution, water pollution, global warming.
Violent crimes are up 100% in the last 50 years.
Besides, there are more children up for adoption and foster care than can be catered to already. Many live their entire childhoods in the system because no one steps up to the plate to adopt them permanantly.
I would really look at all the facts before you decide. What may seem like a noble gesture, may only be in the interest of the prospective parents, and not in the best interest of the child.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I agree with the person who said they should adopt. There are teenagers having babies every day. I'm sure many of them opt to put their newborns up for adoption. However, if adoption is out of the question, for me personally, the only way I could do it for a stranger is if I could have contact with the child after it was born. I'd have to become a friend of the family, or else I couldn't do it.

I would do it. I have actually considered it. I lover being pregnant and I would love for someone else to feel the joy of parenthood through my help as well. The only draw back it my husband. He doesn't believe that's right to do that. I would love to though! I recently saw that surrogate mothers receive about $22,000 for that 9 months of carrying their child. That's a lot of money! And a very happy couple.

I would not....the bond that a person gets even if its not your child is over whelming...I think if you didnt have a care...then go for it...but I know that carrying my kids inside of me for 9 months was the best experience I could ever have....and to see my kids for the first time is amazing....I dont think I could let go of something that was a part of me for that long.

I'd never be able to give the child up after carrying it inside me for 9 months. It would truly break my heart to pass it off to someone. I guess that's selfish, but that's just me, I guess.

You are a true blessing to people if you can handle doing that! I would get too attached to the baby after feeling him or her moving and kicking me for 9 months.. but if you can handle it I say go for it! There are so many that can not have babies!

I personally wouldn't do it because of the simple fact that you carry this baby for nine months go through all kinds of changes.feeling that person inside of you toss and turn it gets you excited and you get attached, you think to yourself i can't wait to see him or her then you remember its not yours.Good Luck with whatever choice you decide to make.

No. That is very self centered couple of people that would spend thousands of dollars to have a kid with their genes rather then adopt one of the thousands of children that pray to be adopted into a good home everyday.
