Big question. If you're selling a few items here and there, I wouldn't worry about it. IF your ebay biz starts to get big...then you may want to consult an accountant...

No u do not need a tax number. To better understand the guide line on e-bay you can go to the site and they also have live assistance to help u with any and all questions
