Someone whom I care about is graduating in the beginning of August, and I want to make something special for her. But the thins is is that I won't be able to see her at all...and the only way of communicating is by means of phone and IMs...but I have her mailing address and everything, and she doesn't know that I'll be sending something to her on her special day. She's getting her Master's, and I was thinking of making one of my specialty cards and then a big piece of something and putting together a collage of all the things she's done for me, leading up to her graduation....I don't really know what kind of gift a graduate would want, even though she's graduated several times already in the past. What would be a good gift, that's perhaps homemade, but still extraordinary enough to be a great present?

Are you about to start reading "The Purpose Driven Life"? I have the book and started reading it a while back and never finished. My co-worker is an attorney who thinks that he is the greatest thing on earth. He constantly declares that everyone else besides him is a moron and that his ego is so big that he's surprised that he can fit into buildings. He gets on powertrips by yelling at student interns in our office. He can't spell, punctuate or write a single grammatically correct sentence. (Don't ask me where he got his law degree. He must have slipped through the cracks.) But he always screams about how dumb everyone else is. He constantly refers to himself as a high-profile powerful attorney when no one even knows his name! He screams at people for no reason and he lectures people about ancient chinese religions even though he's Jewish. He laughs when people give him gifts during the holiday season because he never gives gifts in return, so he's proud of himself for freeloading. He lies down on the dirty floor in the middle of the hall to do yoga sometimes. He likes to harass young women in particular. Psycho?

My son is 3yrs 4 months... I also have an 11month old girl. When they play on the floor together he will often almost squash her or kick her just because he is not aware of where he is placing his body or his feet. I don't think he does this on purpose. I really want to help him learn that there are other things and people around him that he needs to be aware of and not hit by mistake..Any suggestions?

As of June 2006, the quota for H-1 visas has been filled (65,000).

I'm a business man who is in dire need of hiring few foreign nationals for my business. These guys are HIGHLY experienced computer engineers who will basically make or break my business (located in Silicon Valley).

My questions:

1) Any alternative routes?
2) Is there a way to "bend" the quota/limit? Any exceptions to the rule?
3) I hear J visas are a possiblity.. any thoughts on this?
4) Can I also hire someone who's on a tourist visa (via H-1)?
5) Does this quota apply if I am hiring someone who already has a H1? (i.e. transferring the visa sponsors)
