No it is not. All of the people in the world could be placed in Texas with a reasonable amount of personal space (and that's if we don't build upward. Some of the world's poorest nations are sparsely populated while Hong Kong with a population density of over 11,000 per square mile is one of the richest.

Paul Ehrlich wrote an alarmist book called The Population Bomb in the 1960s claiming that by now fewer than 100 million people would be left on earth. He was so wrong as to not be funny but people still believe his alarmist crap!

Earth can carry all 6 billion of us at the US standard living pretty easily but people continue trying to kill off "excess population".

Yes it is. Should be pretty clear to everyone except Shooter whatever that the Earth doesn't have sufficient resources to maintain/sustain the population at current growth rates and we're beginning to see shortages of critical materials (that's why in the US there's talk of eliminating the penny...the copper in it has gone up in value through becomming less available in supply and is worth more than a penny). They aren't making more oil...Palatable water is less than 1/2 of 1% of the 2% that's available for drinking. No we don't have issues...we have a catastrophie in the making.

Yes.
Imagine a world where people have healthy lives and live to the age of 90 or 110; where they produce like rabbits and have large families that branch out and have large families that also branch out and have large families. If this block of people are living on a small island, soon there is a problem.

Overpopulation will always be a problem, here. there, everywhere.

How do you eliminate it? You have to apply controls and nobody wants to be controlled. China is now trying to control its population. We can wait to see how that develops.

Yes. We're having too many children, and THEY'RE having too many children. Worst thing is, when we've completely filled the earth, we'll probably go and overpopulate another planet!

Yes! Have you ever seen a chart of population vs. time. We are at unprecendented levels of population compared to any other time in history.

And population growth tends to be exponential. Larger populations grow much, much faster as they increase in size.

Overpopulation will become a crisis beyond imagination.

YES! Everyone wants to move into the big cities, near "it all" but not to far away that they'd have to work to get to something. If more people move into more-rural areas, it wouldn't be an issue.

Actually, overconcetration is the issue. We hav plenty of land and plenty of resources, yet the overconcentration of people is cause many of the problems.
