My ex and I had been together for about 13 years. We had 2 children together, now 6 & 7 yrs. old. For the past 5 yrs. he has been very abusive, verbally and physiclly. I left him almost a year ago, after the last time he was abusive. He had hit me many times in the head & face, burnt me with a cigarette 3 times and caused permanent damage to my knee and put a knife to my throat and said he was going to kill me. My children saw most of this when it was happening. I pressed charges against him, but the grand jury lowered everything to misdemeanors, even though they had the hospital records and pictures from the hospital. Now we still have to go to court over it again. I feel like I'm wasting my time. And I'm afraid he'll get his visitation with our kids back. I am not the only one who has gotten charges on him for this type of thing, he has a big record. But always gets out of everything. He is an alcoholic and I think he has a cocaine problem. Sometimes I'm to scared to sleep.

I eat a very healthy and balanced diet, I exercise, and I try to stay awake around 16 to 18 hours per day, so I might hopefully fall asleep. But it takes me from 30 minutes to an hour to fall asleep. What can I do? Is there something wrong?

There was a mexican guy at our firework show tonight. He can not speak but a couple sentences of Spanish and I can only speak basic Spanish things. But we managed to talk a few sentences here and there (after I thought very hard about each word lol). Then he was on his phone for like 30 mintues talking in spanish and eventually got off and handed me a peice of paper with his phone number on it. He seemed like a nice guy. So when he pointed to the paper and pen (asking for mine) I decided it couldn't do any harm... Should I have done that? And what kind of phone convo will we be able to have lol. There is one more thing... he is 24 and I am only 17. Oops? (BTW finding out eachothers ages took awhile too)

Has anyone ever bruised ribs before?? I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in. I bruised four or five ribs on my left side playing volleyball and I can't get comfortable. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

I’m a Christian and I understand the words Jesus and Paul stated about submitting to authorities and how the testmony as believers is important, but what about something that surpasses all of that? What about mercy, forgiveness, opportunity to live a better life? From my understanding this country was rooted on Biblical principles. Did Jesus not work on Sabbath against the law at the time and question the lawmakers? Did Jesus not cross the borders in the case of the oppressed Samaritan at the well? I sit and wonder what would Jesus do in this case. Would he have received the people or sent them back home when all they wanted to do is work for a better life for their children. I recall a passage where Jesus said to the people of the law to throw the first stone at the prostitute if they found themselves blameless, so in terms of this case doesn’t everyone break the law not just “illegal” immigrants?

My church is interested in attracting more younger families. Our worship service is very traditional and only has very traditional organ and choir music. So, I am particularly interested in what Christians younger than age 40 prefer. Do you like traditional music? Do you like more contemporary music? A combination of both? Let me know what type you prefer and what age category you are in. (Example: 20's, 30's, etc.)
