Look at our foolish "Bring em On" military over there in Iraq. Weird question, I know. Before I offend people, I mean that question in the nicest way. I believe that people should choose to believe whatever they want to. I don't care if your religious or an atheist. As long as you have reason behind your opinion.

But this has been bothering me. Theres things in the bible that obviously contradict. I'll go with the first contradiction as an example, the fact that theres two creation stories, written by two of the four original groups of authors, and the two stories are obviously different, since in one god is more close to the humans and more loving and caring, whilst the other god is far away and powerful.

So how can someone say that EVERYTHING in the bible is 100 percent true when theres two stories that clearly contradict each other? Like, as my original question states, whats the argument that proves that right?

We bought a house in NE Texas a year or so ago. It had 2 older peach trees; last year the produce very little uneatable fruit. So I pruned the trees in the fall and watered them and they are both loaded down with peaches one with an early ripening varity and a late peach (I am assuming) The earlies were large and beautiful but had what looks like sap oozing out and when you cut them open the seeds are split. I have been told that they take a lot of spraying to produce good eatable peaches. any suggestions?

In the movie Alive, a plane crashes in the Andes and the rugby team that was on it have to survive without food for a really long time, several months. They eventually had to eat the dead to stay alive. The film was based on a true story and I was just wondering how many of you think that you could 'stomache' it. I would try, I know that. ...people have the tendency to act all "know-it-all" and make you feel stupid when you ask a question you don't know the answer to? Everyone knows something others don't - so what's the point of putting someone down just because they don't know something you do? It's friggin' annoying!

Like for example, if you ask "What's the capital of China" and they act all obnoxious and go "How can you NOT know the capital of China!?? What are you, stupid?"

Like, wtf? How can you determine what makes a question a "stupid question."

I ask this question respectfully, in both the Old and the New Testement there is discussion about slavery being a legal institution. Therefor God thinks that this is something moral and ethical.

I understand what has been said here about how it was "humane" and it was people who owed a debt, but we in the last 150 years have as a trend as man gotten away from slavery. Have we replaced our own morality in place of Gods?

Has there been any ramification to the planet Earth since we got away from that - the morality of God - of slavery?
