In the movie Alive, a plane crashes in the Andes and the rugby team that was on it have to survive without food for a really long time, several months. They eventually had to eat the dead to stay alive. The film was based on a true story and I was just wondering how many of you think that you could 'stomache' it. I would try, I know that. By the way, it's a great flick if you haven't seen it, starring Ethan Hawke, worth a rental.

I actually met the Uruguayan man that the Ethan Hawke character was based on. He came and spoke at an elementary school in Montevideo. He was incredible and a riveting speaker. Of course, all the kids just wanted to know "did you really eat people?!" and "What'd it taste like?" He was really good in answering everyone's questions and hung around and spoke with people afterwards. As for my own answer? I'd probably try it, if I had no alternatives. At some point, the will to survive supercedes any of our "civilized" training.

I would eat other people if it meant I would survive. Hell, if someone offered me human meat now, I would give it a go.

I saw it and read both books. Yes, I would if it would keep me alive to see those that I love once more.

I hope I never have to know, but knowing my stupid self I would probably just let myself die, I'm stubborn like that, sorry I couldn't do it, it would be like losing your humanity.
