I think so. I believe everyone has a right to be with the ones they love. People need to stop being so judgmental in this country and realize that we are in the 21st century and men love other men and women love other women . . its just the way it is. I hate all the religious people who are so judgmental of homosexuals. Christ would have accepted everyone . . why cant they?

Yes! Of course. People are people and as Americans we're all guaranteed the right to the pursuit of happiness.

I get so tired of idiots who go on and on about how it "destroys the institution of marriage" - what other people do with their marriages has nothing to do with what you do with yours!

With a 50% divorce rate and studies showing that at least 44% of married men have committed adultery, I just don't think the gays can screw up marriage any more than the straights already have. So let 'em in!

My immediate answer would be no, but this is a free country, and has been fought for being a free country. Whether or not I agree with this or not, it is not up to me to decide what they do with their lives. Because I live in America I can profess my love for Jesus Christ and not be persecuted, so I think it would be hypocritical to think I can do that, but they can't do what they want because it is a "sin." I sin all the time, that is the way God made us, if they want to go ahead and do it then fine. We already messed up the "sanctity" of marriage when we all started getting divorced, so gay men and women can't make it any worse. If the government really wanted to protect the "sanctity" of marriage, maybe they should make it harder to get married for everybody, or make it harder to get a divorce for everybody. The idea of protecting the "sanctity" is a joke to me, because us straight people already messed that up a long time ago.

It does'nt matter if they get legally married. All that is is some writting on a piece of paper. The two people have to get married in the eyes of God, and with His blessing for it to be true.

Yes. I believe that they don't want special rights, just equal rights. Although it might not mesh with everyone's religious beliefs, I believe that it must be done. If we are going to disallow gay marriages based on what they *BELIEVE* is in the Bible, then we need to go ahead and legislate ALL the "no-no's" in the Bible...right? LOL.

Absolutely! I'm a straight married woman, but I do believe that everyone should be allowed to pursue happiness and be entitled to the same rights and benefits, regardless of sexual preference.

No, marriages now adays have so much dysfunction in them they don't need a contradiction too, I do believe there should be some sort of life partner acknowledgement for gay persons but don't call it marriage.
