There is no such thing as a "perfect resume" although there are some good examples you can follow. I would type the words "resume guidance" into a search engine and see what comes up. Generally, keep it to a page if you are early in a career and you can. If you are more experienced, two pages are fine, but no longer than that. Don't lie at all. Offer references, but don't mention them on your resume (i.e., "references available upon request"). Don't offer personal or family information on the resume, but if you have a situation that might impact the job (e.g., I have to leave at 5 p.m. every day to pick up a child at daycare), it is appropriate to mention that verbally if you happen to get to an interview. These are the guidelines I would follow.

There is probably not a perfect "one size fits all" resume. How a resume is designed depends a lot on how much experience a person has and what sort of job one is applying for.
There is usually a selection of resume books available in your public library. Some are specifically designed for special target audiences--e.g. Liberal arts majors; people who have just graduate from college; people changing jobs in mid-career; etc.
Good luck with your job search.

if this question is actually anything to do with the uk, then you need to be looking for a curriculum vitae (CV) not a resume, the formats are slightly different....

In your own history, once you do things that are worth bragging about. As for writing it, just try to avoid misspellings, punctuation errors, and bad formatting.
