I just built a new computer from the ground up. Everything on it is running fine except that I cannot connect to the internet. When I attempt to install the necessary programs provided by my high speed cable provider, I get a message return "Cannot detect your Network Interface Card (NIC).

The connections are double checked between the cable modem, the ethernet plugs and where it plugs into my motherboard.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI NF4SLI 939

The built in helper instructs me to go to 'Start -> control panel -> add hardware -> (install detected hardware). I can't complete the last step because it doesn't detect any new hardware.

Is there something else that I should be looking for or something else that I should be doing? I can't connect to the internet until this is resolved.

My son is 4 1/2 and seems to develop relationships with other kids his age, as long as he knows them VERY well. And, as long as I am around. Last winter, I signed him up for a ski class. He LOVED the skiing part, but would not interact with the children at all. When the class came inside for hot cocoa or to play games, he cried the whole time until they went back outside again and he could ski. He does this every time I sign him up for any class to try and socilize him. Is this normal? Does this mean he is introverted?

A popular venue was booked for a wedding reception. The reception was cancelled (within 30 days of the event) by the customer due to unforseen circumstances. The venue charged a cancellation fee of 60% (because the cancellation was within 45 days of the event - cancellation clause was in the booking contract), plus forfieture of 100% of the booking deposit. Since there was no food or services ordered for the event (nothing but the room deposit was done), and the venue can be easily re-booked, are there really damages?

Isn't is funny when you look back to high school?

You got up in the morning, spent time getting your hair "just right" and putting on makeup... then you had to pick out what pair of name brand jeans you were going to wear for the day.... then the shirt (AND IT HAD TO MATCH PERFECTLY!) Then you put on your (in my case) $150 pair of shoes and mosey on off to school...

Now 23 yaers old and 2 kids later, I don't get a darn what brand of jeans I'm wearing (but they DO have to be clean) or what brand of shoes (mine are from walmart) and my hair goes straight into a ponytail so I don't have to worry about it... Makeup's only for special occasions and my idea of "fun" is working in the yard!

Isn't it funny how just 6 or 7 short years can completely change who you thought you were??? .... What's funnier still is... I wouldn't go back! I love my life! =)
