I'm planning a trip with my girlfriend. How far in terms of driving distance is Lake Tahoe? What's a cool place to stay and how much do hotels rooms cost?

Looking for a good getaway spa for my husband and I. Every year around June we always go on a trip together alone. It is just a ritual we have because our life is so hectic and we never get to spend quality time "alone" That means away from in laws, family, friends ect. So anyway... We are trying to get pregnant now.. so it would have to be a place for both of us. Wether I am pregnant or not.. and something that is all-inclusive would be nice, but not a "must" Any Ideas?

Oh yeah, I would want it to be quite, but still near the city.. possible by the beach...(are there any pretty clear water beaches?)

I'm focused on location over ammenities and willing to pay $150 a night. I'm unsure if there is a cabin for rent in a great location or if you can rent camping gear for the night in a cool area in January. Also, how far is Yosemite from San Francisco in terms of driving distance? Thanks!

I'm planning on going with my girlfriend. Looking for location over ammenties in the price range of $100 for the night. Can you rent camping gear at the park? Would you suggest camping or staying at an inexpensive lodge?

I'm going to be in Oakland for 3 weeks, last week in Nov and 2 weeks in December... What are some fun things to do there. Inexpensive is better, but I'm willing to pay for a good experience. I won't have a car, but I'm going to rent one for a day so that I can drive out to the ocean. Is there any public transportation available?
Also, I've heard that there are some bad neighborhoods, where should we stay away from?

It's a constant "whump, whump, whump" that can be heard from anywhere in the city. It sounds as if it's coming from Mission Bay, South Beach, or Hunter's Point neighborshoods, but its hard to tell. You can hear it all the way in Twin Peaks.

I have lived just 2 hrs north of "The Golden Gate" for about 35 years and I figure at an average of 5 trips back or forth for 35 yrs, I have crossed it about 175 times.
