Its a beautiful lieelt beach town that ive been going to every year ever since i was 2. its like a second homw to me! loll you can stay in a local hotel. theres a cute hotel called "cottage inn" heres a pic

heres a website for things to do in or around pismo, where to stay ect http://www.classiccalifornia.com/
but since its only 4 hours away from the bay area i definately recommend going =D

Stinson beach? Bodega Bay? Sonoma has an excellent cheese shop on the town square. Forget the name, it's something like Sonoma Jack. You can get picnic stuff there and have a picnic in the town square. Napa Valley has more restaurants than god and great shopping and wineries. For a really cool winery experience, go to Sterling. It's between St. Helena and Calistoga. You can take a tram all the way up to the winery at the top of the hill. Beautiful views. Or there's the Wine Train, but that's kind of over-rated, but the food's good. Or there's a ballon ride, that was so amazing when we went on ours. You could even see the Golden Gate and neighboring cities. Gorgeous.
Email me if you want more stuff or details on wine country. If you and your gf are up for things that need reservations, I get discounts since I live in Napa.

Most of what you mentioned are in Northern California. Why dont you spread your trip to the Southern part of California.
What you had mentioned are the best of what the North offers. Try budgeting your time and make a time schedule to make the most out of it!
In the Northern part, go to the famous Disneyland. There is someone who died there recently but I think they will be extra careful this time! Not all people who go there die anyway. See other themeparks like Knotts Berry Farm or go to Universal studios or even to Hollywood!
I suggest that you go to San Diego! Downtown LA is too traffic, you may want a more peaceful community like San Diego. If you love the beaches, I would suggest Coronado. You have to see the bridge there, it gives you a spectacular view of the area. It was awarded one of the best bridges in the USA because of its structure! It is also one of the tallest in the USA! You should see Hotel Coronado, it is not only one of the best in the US but one of the best in the world. Inquire if you can just walk see and see the place. See also the wonderful view of the Harbor area.
Driving too much is tiring too! You can live your car in a safe place and try riding the Amtrak or the trolley of San Diego! You can picture the whole of San Diego well by riding all those trolley cars.
There are bus stations at every trolley station. Try seeing the last American exit! There is an outlet in San Isidro. Staying in a well planned trip will be about 3-5 days in San Diego. See San Diego Zoo and Sea World.
Another suggestion is to see Nevada!

For some quick day trips that aren't far from SF, check out Santa Cruz (only about a 1 to 1 1/2 hour drive from SF). There is a beach and boardwalk there and a whole park full of amusement park rides and carnival games (similar to Coney Island).
Another nice area is along the Bohemian highway through Occidental. Very pretty and wooded through there. Also, fall is apple season, and there are plenty of places selling pies and cider. Fun for a relaxing picnic day. Also, the Union Hotel there used to have huge Italian dinners (your choice of chicken, duck, or steak plus raviolis, fresh vegetable soup with bread, salad, cold cut plate with salami, zucchini pancakes, and apple turnover dessert all for around $20). I haven't been there in years and can't confirm if they still offer that huge dinner, but it used to be wonderful!
Bodega Bay is also close by and offers beautiful ocean views, but is also really expensive. It's nice for a day drive to visit the beaches, but I wouldn't recommend dining or staying there overnight.
