I am going to travel from Stanford to Rancho Siempre Verde Christmas Tree Farm on Saturday, Dec. 2nd. Should I go north on 280, then across the hills using La Honda road to Hwy 1? Or should I go south on 280, then west on 17 to Hwy 1? My views on Google Earth are inconclusive: they look like they'd take about the same amount of time, considering the windy and narrow road of La Honda versus the possible speed of Hwy 17. Thoughts? Thanks in advance, folks!

Have you ever heard of it? The Tortiose was a bus that took people across the U.S. for an very low fare. It was mostly used by Hippies and Rainbow People. I think it started it's run out of San Francisco. Does it still exist? Any info or experience stories would be appreciated

I grew up in norcal, but have lived in socal for 9 years. I've visited SF many times over the years. I personally feel that SF is much prettier and more convenient than LA, but at the same time, people in SF seem much more uptight, arrogant, introverted and overly proud. I can say that LA is superficial and very spread out, but the people seem generally more open, outgoing and fun than SF people. What's your opinion and why?

I'm going from Las Vegas to San Francisco on vacation, passing through Bakersfield and northward. Can you suggest the best towns to pass through to get a taste of wine country on my way to San Francisco?

I'm in San Fransisco in the morning only on Saturday and I want to do some shopping. I'm looking for unique finds, not chain stores. Is there an area where i can get funky but not streety clothing? To give you an indication of what i like, i love shopping in paris where you can get clothing with a twist.

December 8-9. We've been to Half Moon Bay before, wanted to go somewhere different in the SF Bay area. Wife likes ocean, heard this is a good place in December compared to others. Bodega Bay Lodge is booked. Most other places have mixed reviews. Help! Thanks.
