I went once to buy a bottle of steroids. They are legal in Mexico and can be bought in the pharmacies. Life is different in Mexico so you should really see it just for that reason. Lots of pretty girls.

San Francisco has an amazing Chinatown about ten blocks big in the downtown area. A hundred miles north of San Francisco are big redwood forests. Look for the Avenue of the Redwoods which parallels Hwy 101.

North LA is the best parts of LA. It's where the movie industry is from. Burbank, Hollywood (sorta seedy these days) Beverly Hills, UCLA, Santa Monica. The boardwalk stretches for miles at Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach. You definitely would want to walk on that.

So a visit to Tijuana would be a good idea. It's a different world with beautiful colors, cheap prices, nice Mexican people, nice weather.

Also, Las Vegas is a four hour drive from Los Angeles. The casinos have lots of georgious cocktail waitresses serving drinks. Play the slot machines. There must be a dozen new mega casino/ hotels. Las Vegas is open 24 hours a day with cheap beer and food. A very nice and friendly place, too. The Hoover Dam is very close to Las Vegas. So the Grand Canyon wouldn't be too far away.

If you want wildlife, then Yosemite National Park isn't too far from San Francisco. It's one of the most famous parks in America. Still, I'd choose to see the redwoods first.

I'd look into tours going beyond Tijuana to Rosarito Beach or the wine country in Mexico across the border. I think you'd feel safer than walking around in Tijuana on your own.

Take Highway 101 and 1(whenever you can) to enjoy spectacular coastal scenery. There are also lots of wineries and other sites to visit along the ride. If you're into wineries, there are many in Santa Cruz, Monterey. Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Temecula, and San Diego. Go to this site for more winery info: http://www.cheers2wine.com

In San Luis Obispo, go to the Farmer's Market if you are there on a Thursday evening. South of San Luis Obispo, rent a 4 wheeler and ride the sand dunes. It's a blast.

If you're looking for things to do in San Diego, check out http://www.sandiego-romantics.com.

And for weather info use: http://www.weather.com/

Have a great trip!

If you want to really see Mexico and its true culture, enjoy authentic Mexican food..you should plan to go a little more inside Mexico..for example..Mexico city. It may be best to take a short flight to Mexico city, and other places. Tijuana is good, but you would see so much of US / CA influence there. If your travel plan can only accomodate a short trip to Tijuana, skip it.

If you want to know more, look at http://www.visitmexico.com/wb/Visitmexico/Visi_Destinos_Turisticos to compare Tijuana with otehr Mexico city. Mexico is indeed beautiful, but you would need to spend more time to go to other places.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes!

yea its great over there especially if you like to party... i cant lie though there is a lot of poverty, and its ugly. but the night life is great. there is a street called Revolution and that is where all of the clubs are. the best club is called Animale. but if you want open bar go to Escape. and if you like Sea Food then get a taxi and tell them to take you to the restaurant named El Godoy.. its great food and service. and they have live bands most day, and they give you a free cup of beer when you get there..and if u dont like staying in Tijuana then you can go to Rosarito or Ensenada.

Do not drink the water or anything with ice!! Mexico is a different world, if don't mind the poverty it might be worth it to see it for a few hours.
