major transit systems in the Bay Area:
Cal Train
San Francisco Municipal Railway (buses, cable cars, trolleys)
Golden Gate Transit (buses and ferries)
Sonoma County Transit
Blue and gold Fleet (ferries)
AC Transit (buses around Contra Costa, ALameda counties and transbay to SF)
You could ride transit from the Russian River to South San Jose.
