Looks like most stay at the Hilton or Valley River Inn. But tripadvisor reviews for the Hilton say to stay at Valley River....and vice versa! What's a nice place to sack out for a couple of nights?

I now live in the central valley California, and we are considering a move to Vancouver WA area and taking a job in Portland. Has anyone else left Cali, and what is the crime rate like up in Vancouver...also, is it really liberal or conservative, or kinda middle of the road? Thanks

I'm a 27 year old male radiography (x-ray) student graduating in June. I live in Wisconsin now and I'm looking to experince the NW. I love the outdoors! Hiking, mountain biking and golf are my favorites. I want a mix of outdoor activites along with cultural things to do. I would like to live in a reasonably priced area that is dog friendly. Good hospitals are a must! I saw that someone had mentioned a new income tax law. How does that effect people? Any input would be great. Thanks!

I'm a bit nervous about the move, and would love some objective convincing. I hear wonderful things about PDX, and have greatly enjoyed my visits. Any further encouragement?

My fiance and I are moving to Eugene in the next 3 mons (job transfer). Neither one of us have ever been there. We would like to live in a younger area, not the university. We are looking for bars, restaurants, shops, parks located near by. We do not want to be in a cookie cutter, plastic house. Or within an area like that...Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I'm supposed to take a business trip to Portland next Thursday and return next Saturday. It seems like most flights out of Portland on Saturday, March 24, are completely sold out.

What's going on? Why is there a mass exodus from PDX next Saturday?

I am considering moving to either Portland, Oregon for graduate school. I wonder if anyone has information on Lewis and Clark College, and what life is like in Portland as a young professional. What are the people like in Portland? Cultured? Is it a cultured city? Is it a happy city? A friendly one? A beautiful one? Any information on Portland and its happenings, from an insider, would be helpful, for someone who has never been there. Thanks!
