I'm supposed to take a business trip to Portland next Thursday and return next Saturday. It seems like most flights out of Portland on Saturday, March 24, are completely sold out.

What's going on? Why is there a mass exodus from PDX next Saturday?

I don't think there is any 'significant' reason for the mass exodus except it's spring and most of schools are out for spring break that next week.

If you have to stay over another day, why not look into doing something fun in and around the city. Without knowing what you like to do, it's hard to recommend things. But here's three websites that have a lots of things listed; from tulip festivals to Grease on stage, and from wine tasting in Yamhill to a live Latin Jazz Trio in Portland.
