My very best girlfriend is coming to town this weekend for 4 days. We've got lots planned, but since this is her first visit to the NW, I want to make sure we get in all the "must see" places in Portland.

We are the type of friends that have fun no matter what we're doing, so activites can range from $ to $$$$.

Remember, 4 days, and we have to have time to sleep! LOL

So far, here are some of the items on the itinerary:
Local auctions
Dinner at Lovely Hula Hands
The antique Expo
Saturday Market
Pittock Mansion
Multnomah Falls
Hawthorne
Dinner at Palmer House (it's my birthday!!!!)

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Maybe like volunteer somewhere, or really just about anything. And oh ya, I quit drinking about 4 months ago so that takes away a bunch of options.

My husband and I recently moved to Portland, OR. Is there such a thing as a Kaffeeklatsch for German ladies (50-ish) where we can talk in German ? I find myself forgetting more and more words, and would like to do something about it. If you are in the same boat, let me know.

Portland intrigues me and I have gotten a lot of good feedback about the city. I personally love music, art and literature. Can I find a lot of places or people with the same interests? What are the employment opportunities like? Is the cost of living there cheaper? Is there a lot of traffic? Please any feedback would be helpful.

I am trying to find a gingseng grower or ditributer in Nothern New England. I have hear that Gingseng growing (both Korean and American) is relatively popular in Maine maybe Vermont and Upstate New York and Canada? Does anyone grow gingseng or knows anyone from whom I could purchase some seeds? If so please email &/R IM me or reply to this question. Id rather that it be a private or small -family farm business than huge Multinational if possible. Thanks you very much in advance and Best regards
Joonas

Ok maybe that is mean, but I seem to really attract guys with drug and alcohol problems, guys with serious mental disorders, and creepy old lonely men. And a few ***** who just are looking to hook up. Every once in a while I get a nice normal guy, but mostly not. Seriously why do these guys get so attached to me. Its not just that they hit on me but they get REALLY attached. What do I do? I try not to lead people on, but sometimes I think I'm just being friendly and they take it the wrong way. I don't want to be a *****, but how do I get them to take the hint?

I'm thinking if transferring to SOU for this spring term of my Junior year? Does anyone go there/ went there? Would you recommend it? Someone told me people there are very clique-y. Is that true? Will it be hard to make friends as a transfer student? Especially if most students live off campus? Thanks
