To rent in Mt. Park area of Lake Oswego it is pretty cheap but to buy anywhere in Lake O it gets pretty expensive plus the taxes aren't cheap. You might check out the N.W area out by Nike over in the Bethany area, it is a nice area. If you are looking for older type homes then good area's would be Hawthorne or Sellwood or N.W 23rd area are all nice older neighborhoods and you can walk about anywhere in the old area's.

Lake Oswego is the rich part of town so is that area. I like Gresham you are close to Downtown Portland and closer to Mt Hood and lots of camping.

Lake Oswego is fine. However, alot of the homes are older (mid seventies) and overpriced. It's considered a weathier suburb of Portland.

I like Medford, Eugene & Salem.
Other towns & cities are really nice too. It depend on what are you looking for in Oregon.
