Weather in late March is a mixed bag, but often rainy or rainy/cloudy, and moderate temps in high 40's to around 60 on a sunny day.
The Oregon Zoo is an excellent zoo, and it is likely you will have at least a few days of dry enough weather to enjoy it.

Portland has several great parks, nightclubs, casinos, museums, art galleries, and theaters to interest most people. There are a lot of things to do with your family as well. The weather in march is mostly in the 40's.

The weather can be rough; lots of rain and wind. Portland has a lot of things for a family to do though. I would highly recommend visiting OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), kids LOVE it there. There are tons of great restaurants and theaters and shows and art gallerys and... You name it.

There is not much to do. You could go to the Oregon Zoo or OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science Institute, I think) or the Children's Museum. Children would really enjoy any of these places. The Columbia River Gorge would probably still be too rainy to hike around Multnomah Falls.
