There are 2 options how to get from Eugene to Cannon Beach:
Take I-5 North towards Portland, turn off to Highway 217, and continue on Highway 26 West to Cannon Beach. It's faster.

You might chose to drive through Salem and take Highway 22. And from there take highway 101 North. It might take you longer, but it's more scenic drive.

From the map below you would be able to find other roads if these would not be your preference. Just keep in mind that 101 at most of parts goes through towns and it's slow.

There is another route - Highway 126 west from Eugene to the coast and then up to Cannon Beach. I think both routes posted by the previous Yamster are scenic, but I like the Highway 126 route - it gets you to the coast faster and I think there is less traffic on the highway, the road isn't as steep over the coast range, and I like to see more of the coast on the trip north.

Check out tripcheck.com before you leave just to be sure there aren't any road closures on the trip, whatever route you take.

Wish there was still a bus or alternate transportation up the coast, but there isn't anymore.
